Cannot Make This Shit Up
I reported a while back on the recent election for mayor of Seattle, which Katie Wilson narrowly won on the basis of a turnout of around 29% of the city’s voting age population.
Here is a quote from Ms. Wilson regarding the cabinet she will appoint, as quoted in the WSJ:
“I will appoint a cabinet of exceptional leaders whose lived experiences reflect the diversity of Seattle’s Black, Indigenous, Asian and Pacific Islander, Latinx/Hispanic, and People of Color communities as well as that of women, immigrants and refugees, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, people with disabilities, people of all faith traditions, and residents from every socioeconomic background.”
It’s tricky, but I count 17 different groups being named in that statement. In fact she needs more than that, because I cannot say how many groups might have to be included in ‘+’ or how many different ‘faith traditions’ and ‘socioeconomic backgrounds’ she has in mind. Zoroastrians? Low income adherents of Wicca?
It’s gonna be one honkin’ big cabinet.
