Oh Dear, Keir

Some of you may recall that I wrote a looong post a while back about what was going on in the UK politics-wise. I suggested that maybe they were going to end up with a right-leaning populist government being led by Nigel Farage of Reform UK. The first step in the suggested timeline would be the defeat of current PM Keir Starmer as Labour Party leader by another Labour MP.

Well, ol’ Keir was kind enough to speed that along for me recently by declaring he would resign as Labour Party leader and PM by September.

We will see what happens next, but this brief article is not about that, but about Mr. Starmer himself. You can go on X yourself here and see a video of part of a speech he recently gave.

All I really want to say about it is that any official who stands in front of any group of people and – with a straight face – says this:

“I’m really proud that we’ve got the gayest parliament, I don’t think just of all time—anywhere in the world. I don’t think there’s any parliament that is gayer than this one.”

….is just not connected in any way to the real world. And, therefore, should not be in charge of anything remotely important.
