As readers know, I write about homelessness, both local and general, with some frequency. However, I’m just an old retired guy whose contact with this problem consists of what I read and what I see as I move around my home town.

The reason you might want to read it is that it is one of many posts on this problem by one Kevin Dahlgren. Besides writing the blog Truth on the Streets, from which the above comes, he has worked in social services for over 25 years. As he says on the blog:

I started reporting on the homeless and addiction crisis a few years ago after many years of watching our government fail in ending this crisis.

There are many other posts on his blog worth your attention; he seems to be based in Oregon somewhere. What he has to say about these issues is way more credible than anything I write.
